Defining Creativity: Class Reflection

As from my first sight of the word “creative”, there are two words that come through my mind. The words are “create” and “active” which leads to a spirit of actively create something new. However, the ability to create things endlessly will not be complete and perfect without creativity.

What is creativity?

According to what have been stated in the lecture's slide,

creativity is actually :

1. Only special talented people are creative.

2. Being creative is hard.

3. Problems are in our life to make it more difficult.

4. I am not creative.

5. Innovation is the domain of geniuses.

6. I have to have brand new ideas in order for me to be considered creative.

7. Brainstorming is hard work.

8. Only artists need to be creative.

9. Using structured creative techniques will hinder my ability to be creative.

Besides, creativity can also be considered as:

a) an ability to imagine or invent something new.

b) an attitude to accept changes and newness.

c) a process to improve ideas and solutions.

Personal point of view :

Sometimes, things might look weird and strange in the eyes of the audience, yet deep inside the heart of the creator and certain creative person, those are things that only exist because of creativity.

In life, we often encounter challenges and hardship that will lead us to become a more perfect person. In my opinion, the same thing goes with life and creation because at times, the main thing that will make our creation more special is the lesson and experience that we gain from mistakes and unpredictable accidents.

Below are some creative pictures about egg's life!! Eggs were fully used by the designer to represent people in their daily life.

The cast were selected from the Sour’s international fan base, each person and scene filmed via webcam. It has showed the imaginative and creativity towards the usage of webcam. Inside the music video, it also shows on how different cultures of people across the international working together to make this music video appears creative and artistic, Technologies not just able to make our work easier nowadays, it is also to share the arts among each other.

Introduction to Creative Studies : Class Reflection

Creative Studies??? As one of the student from the faculty of creative multimedia, this is a new subject which is compulsory for every students. We are required to open a new blog as for our individual assignment. I have attended the very first lesson, and i have been taught on how to be a creative person and what a person need to possess in order to be creative. Ideas which are creative can be created in many and alternative ways. It is not necessary to be created out on a piece of paper, building, or clothes. It can be either created out by movement or in spoken words. Just like what our lecturer, Mr. Yap Sau Bin says, a design which deserves creativity, is just like "something different to say, different way of saying it."

Does this consider as creative???
One of the work done by me during my foundation.
